With my laptop starting to fall apart after 20 months of service (one HD died, gfx card tends to overheat, even though it's properly cleaned and heat sinks checked) I've ordered a new system. I'm returning to a desktop system:

i7 3770K (4x3,50GHz) | Gigabyte GeForce GTX 660 Ti Windforce 2X OC, 2GB | 16GB RAM DDR3 PC1600 | 1,5TB HDD SATA3 | Coolermaster 600W | Case RAPTOR 0300NG

I added an 128GB SSD for the OS (Win7) and some other apps.
I am, somehow, less interested in the weight and convolutions of Einstein's brain than in the near certainty that people of equal talent have lived and died in cotton fields and sweatshops.

What ARE people using their computers for these days? I don't even have a work rig like that and I use it for CFD simulations. :)
