7. Planetside 2
8. Tribes: Ascend
9. Mass Effect 3
10. Torchlight II

Probably not the worst year end list. Surprised to see GW2 "only" on 18.

Any guess what #1 will be (to be revealed tomorrow)? My tip: FarCry 3. :P

When did Arkham City come out, 2011?

OK then I give the list my blessing.

What is so good about Arkham City? Boring buttonsmasher, is what I see in it.

I only played it on the PC, but I had fun with it.  Haven't played Far Cry 3 yet.  I was not exactly impressed with Far Cry 1 and 2.  X-com is the best I played this year.  Hotline Miami was great fun.  I highly recommend it, extremely addictive.  I don't know if it's good for people who never played games in the Arcade back in 1980's though.  There is certainly a nostalgia factor in there.
I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011

And yes, their Game of the Year is Far Cry 3:

  That picture at the top captures the game pretty well.  Guys getting blown away by some exploding barrels while a bear attacks you.  Whoever took the screenshot is cheating though (way too much ammo and grenades).
