After many years of resisting the urge to buy the game, I've purchased it and now my life is over.

I no longer think about my wife, my children, my job, my hobbies. My only goal in life is to feed the factory. It must grow.

Really?

I have heard many good things. It's pricing model of always growing more expensive is curious.

But it basically just seems to be about setting up the part of most strategy games which isn't fun?

Factory must grow. Altho, I don't like playing it. I prefer to watch it on Twitch or YouTube.

Price hasn't risen since release, but they never do a sale. Mainly because they're really confident about their product. Justifiably so too.

It actually has warfare. You essentially create world-destroying factory that pumps out so much pollution that the native lifeforms have to try to destroy you. You're supposed to clear out these bug nests with flamethrowers, bombs, rockets, and nukes.

The new DLC costs the same as the base game

$70 for the the main game plus the expansion.

And the DLC sits at "overwhelmingly positive" last I checked. My understanding is that Factorio is like crack cocooned if you're predisposed to it. Engineers seem especially vulnerable.  :P
I am, somehow, less interested in the weight and convolutions of Einstein's brain than in the near certainty that people of equal talent have lived and died in cotton fields and sweatshops.

I know. And you'll easily get 100s or more hours out of it if you're predisposed to this type of games.  :)
