The mustang's conversion from an auto trans to a manual begins

The only used parts were the manual pedal assembly and manual trans mission harness for the back up lights

Manual pedals were put in last year. Not a bad job if you take the drivers seat and steering wheel out. Auto shifter is out in the pic

I like these sort of project because you have a 'vision' of what you want, work out what's necessary, get all of the bits, then set about doing it, inevitably chop and change a bit as you go along and end up building something you now truly own.
It's like the antithesis of bland consumerism.

There are probably quite a few people out there who didn't know you could modify your own car.

No kidding.  Looks like an 80s Mustang.  No idea why you'd swap out the tranny rather than just buying a new manual 80s Mustang.

Well, if it's a 5.0, they are pretty pricey to come by   The manual transmission job would probably be cheaper.

I don't even want to refuel my own car.  I once finished refueling, then noticed that I left the engine on the whole time
