Those games should be right up my alley. But they're just so damn clunky. Play like something from 30 years ago and.... I can't these days.

So... I've rewatched Star Trek TOS these past few months here and there, and the whole thing has primed me for Star Trek gaming.

Are any of the myriad Star Trek games worth it? Particularly the space games, or the adventure games if they have good Trek stories.

I remember playing a spaceship combat simulator way back that was super complex for its time.

EDIT: Looked it up EGA Trek it was.

Have you thought of playing the online multiplayer game?

I never really got into it, but I think BB enjoyed it.

In several surveys, the overwhelming first choice for what makes Canada unique is multiculturalism. This, in a world collapsing into stupid, impoverishing hatreds, is the distinctly Canadian national project.

Obviously, the first suggestion would have to be Star Trek 25th Anniversary and Judgment Rites, the old point & click games featuring the original voice cast of TOS.

The two latest games are Resurgence, a Telltale style game set in the TNG movie era. People seem to like it, but I find the engine quite clunky.

There's also the Voyager game in which you try to get Voyager home from the Delta Quadrant. It has resource management and encounters based on Voyager episodes. Not much in terms of bells and whistles (you get a Tom Paris voice diary, but otherwise it's text only). It's setting on Mostly Positive on Steam.

Resurgence was a fun romp but replayability is close to nill. And the engine is indeed very cluncky.
I also thought it was no longer for sale?

Dang. you're right. Was only out a couple of years, then.

Indeed.
Well, if want to play it you'll need to set your sails to the wind...

I'm not much into these types of games anyway. Some of the Telltale ones had agreat writing, but might as well just watch a Let's Play.

Will hunt down the TOS-era adventure games, then. They are on Gog, but will wait for sale...

The Voyager game pissed me off. 75% of the time I was worried about my fuel levels and flying around replenishing them. I am not even exaggerating.

I played the HistoriCity: Florence demo. What's to say, it's a city-builder, but I found it enjoyable and relaxing.
