Sometimes I think people on Languish are worth talking to.  Less and Less these days.  Hey, do you know if Yi is now ignoring me?  I haven't heard from him after he  stormed off last.

Re: GOP control of congress, I feel pretty confident that they will retain the House and think they have a good shot at taking the Senate.  Nothing is ever 100% certain of course, but I would still want a Pretend Democrat President Romney to work with the GOP in any case.

Is there any indication that the GOP would act differently if there was different Democrat in office?  The previous Democrat they obstructed and impeached. 

Hold up a minute, there.  The GOP reached across the aisle & worked with Clinton on NAFTA, welfare reform, and other items on which they agreed.  Clinton was smart enough to steal some issues from the GOP and pretty much force them to work with him.  Obama, not so much.  He seemed to prefer telling the GOP that elections have consequences.

Just wait until this summer, 90 days before the election.

I suspect that the GOP realizes that not paying the salaries of government employees is a losing move even for Ron Paul supporters.

Ah, so no.  They weren't interested in working with him.  There was an enormous increase in filibusters at the time as well.  But of course it was the Democrat's fault.  It's always the Democrat's fault.  Now, did Democrats refuse to work with Bush in his first two years?  I seem to recall them passing his tax stuff, and his war against Iraq
