Not that odd, really. I think women are the target market for that book. You might be thinking your mother, but there's plenty of moms under 50 ;)

I'm reading the newest John Irving book which has a lot of weird sex in it. (gays, bis, transgendered and stuff). My mom's a John Iriving fan. She's in her 70s, conservative and Catholic. Not sure I'm going to give her it when I'm done, as I normally do with Irving books.

Yeah there is really no way that is not creepy.  I guess if you have a good friend who a mom and you buy her the book for mother's day....nah even that is weird.
