Not sure if this was Guller's point, but to immediately jump to politics when reading this story is to completely miss the point. Dude's a criminal. Politics is no replacement for justice.

First and foremost, the guy was a crook.  Mentioning whether he was a Republican or a Democrat just serves to divide us all along the partisan lines.  Let's move the discussion away from the fact that he was a Republican.

But then no one gets to feel artificially superior, and where's the fun in that?

I'm just curious how Dems need to take blame for this:

Dems contend that "winner" of election, if actual winner, wasn't qualified to run in the first place.  "Winner" gets convicted of fraud including lying about his address, proving Dems right.  Dems say their guy should have been installed instead of giving the governor a chance to ignore the election completely and just install his own guy.

Truly, insidious behavior at work.

Because the court convicted the man of felonies, he's now ineligible for his office. However, it doesn't sound like they actually overturned the results of the last election.

They are trying to get the court to overturn the election because the guy who 'won' never should have been on the ballot.  The only reason he was on the ballot was because of the crimes he committed.

Nowhere, that's where.

They didn't have to.  That felony conviction is proof of the claims made in the civil suit.  You call it misappropriation, I call it precedent.
