Bad audio slowdown with vista 64

Seriously bad.  Seriously.

Any audio source in Vista gets thoroughly hacked when I'm simultaneously browsing.  I've got 8 gigs of RAM.  WTF?

I have Vista 64 SP1 and have never encountered this issue.  :huh:

Post your soundcard brand&model please, or if you don't know and it's integrated on your board, your motherboard brand&model please :)

Most likely a driver issue, I don't have this problem here.

All current drivers, SP1, Realtek ac97 on Asrock board.

Make sure you have the latest BIOS for your board, it never hurts.

Uninstall your current drivers, then reinstall the new ones from Realtek:

I have a Realtek audio board, with an ASUS mobo but it's been a while since I've had this problem.  Just make sure you install the HD audio driver; everything I've read seems to indicate that problem has been fixed...
