Hillary was the right choice then, and she's the right choice now.

I didn't vote, but that would have been a tough decision for me.  On the one hand, I hate parvenus.  On the other, I don't believe that a woman can make a good political leader.
Not a fan of Thatcher?
She turned out alright, but I'm still opposed in principle.

What about as Queens?
The Monarch is apolitical.
What about Queens that weren't like Elizabeth I or Isabella of Castile?
It is far better for the truth to tear my flesh to pieces, then for my soul to wander through darkness in eternal damnation.

Jet: So what kind of woman is she? What's Julia like?
Faye: Ordinary. The kind of beautiful, dangerous ordinary that you just can't leave alone.
Jet: I see.
Faye: Like an angel from the underworld. Or a devil from Paradise.

Garbon was right.  I should have listened to him. :(  I wasn't initially impressed with Obama.  I do remember you posting an article about him before he ran suggesting he could be the first black President.  What I remember was that his big issue when running in the primary was that he opposed the Iraq War from the start.  That didn't impress me, since it's easy to oppose something when you have no say in it.  I liked the fat Mexican, but he never got much traction.  I worried if we nominated Hilliary it would be a repeat of the1990's with rampant conspiracy mongering amongst conservatives and them blocking everything the President did.  I guess I assumed the problem was Clinton and not the GOP.  How foolish of me.  Now we have rampant conspiracy mongering and blocking all over again.  Some of it by the same people who claimed that Clinton killed Vince Foster (and numerous other people), now claim that Obama is actually a Kenyan national.  I'll never trust conservatives to be rational again.
I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011

I wonder how that "Black Messiah", thing got started in conservative circles.  I think it had to do with that Jesus Camp movie.  The film of children praying to a cardboard cutout of GWB disturbed a lot of conservatives and they felt the need to project it back on their enemies.

Matters not. I hope he gets another four years.

Obama. Like a chick in college we have now had a black man so we can put that shit behind us. There will always be time for a woman president.
Didn't know you were a chick in college.  Were you HOTT?  If so, got pics?
The future is all around us, waiting, in moments of transition, to be born in moments of revelation. No one knows the shape of that future or where it will take us. We know only that it is always born in pain.   -G'Kar

Opposed, although I can see why someone like Elizabeth might have been necessary (curbing the evils of Catholicism).
I do not hate you, nor do I love you, but you are made out of atoms which I can use for something else.

No pics. I looked like Scarlett.
