I require a new computer. I am not opposed to building one, though I've been out o fthat game so long I have no idea what to buy.  It will be used for Civ/EU type games and surfing the interwebs.

Budget around 1000-1200 dollars American.

Get a PC. The ST and Amiga are almost dead as gaming computers.

I don't do meditation.  I drink alcohol to relax, like normal people.

If Microsoft Excel decided to stop working overnight, the world would practically end.

I'll be back with more serious suggestions later, Wag ;)

I think it's a good setup. :)
Go for 8gb memory, DDR3, no matter the brand, really.

The power supply might be a tad low, if you ever plan on going Crossfire (2 video cards).
But, I don't think you can go wrong with that board, CPU and video card.  The rest, go for what you want.
If you need a new LCD monitor, try this one from AlienWare: Dell OptX AW2310.  I have two of these and I love 'em :)
