I remember working outdoors in that weather - it is not the cold that will get you, it is the cold mixed with the wind combined with general human frailty that will get you.
I have come to believe that the whole world is an enigma, a harmless enigma that is made terrible by our own mad attempt to interpret it as though it had an underlying truth.

It was -9 this morning - minus freaking 9!

On Saturday we are going back to the new normal winter temperature of +9.

Amusingly the long term forecast has a high of +3 for Monday.

Current temp is -36c at 10am.

Apparently it was cold enough to cause one of the LRT rails to crack, which led to an extra half hour being added on to my commute this morning. <_<

Oh Canada.  :(

Does your schedule not allow you to snowbird?

I gotta say winter has been pretty mild down here so far.

Over the last 24 hours we have had 32 cm of snow at our house and a blizzard warning is on again for tonight.

Getting a good work out clearing the sidewalk and driveway  :D

A foot of snow in 24 hours is a lot.  Doubly so in a city not used to it.  Hope everything is going well for you and your family CC.

We are fine thanks :) there was less in the City (about 20 cm)  we are up on the foothills of Grouse Mountain and that change in elevation makes for a lot more snow than at sea level.

You are right about the city not being used to having this much snow - lots of people without snow tires making a nuisance of themselves.  Also we don't have the equipment to clear the streets properly.  The rare time this happens we just have to grin and bear it.

4F here right now.  Thank Hod no wind.

Barrister

It's slightly warmer!  High of -26c today!
