It's amazing how warm -12c can feel after several days of -20.  It felt positively balmy waiting for the bus this morning.

Poors.  :(

If it isn't a bus in London, I'm unlikely to take it. Bus people...:x

When I realized that the cost of a transit pass was less than the tax I had to pay for my downtown parking spot, never mind everything I had to pay in gas and maintenance, I realized I could put up with "bus people".  :)

Besides, most of my commute is by train, I just take a 10 minute bus ride to get to the train station.

Considering where Beebs lives, the bus people are other white commuters.

The annoying ones are the high school students.  I frequently have to gesture to some kid to move his bag so I can sit down when the bus is very obviously full.  Plus when I get off the bus at the LRT station, there is usually a crowd of high schoolers waiting and pushing to get on - sometimes pushing their way on when people are still trying to get out.  I've firmly told a few of them to "wait for people to get off" several times. <_<

You've entered old man territory. Congrats!

Yeah it's hard to get off when pressed up against overeager teenagers.

I'm surprised Beeb's cow town has a train.

I do miss my train ride.  Bit of a pain when it rained and broke down or ran late, but that ride home to be able to decompress was sooo worth it. Leaving a stressful job to deal with an even more stressful commute home totally sucks.

It's one of the few things I really like about Edmonton.  The LRT is great - the station is a short bus ride from my house, and downtown there's a tunnel that goes directly from the underground station right to my building.

1-4 inches expected tomorrow. Several grocery stores are on fire, after being looted of bread, milk and toilet paper.

Yeah, they're calling for "an inch or two" Thursday night into Friday morning.  Which means it will wreak more havoc for drivers than an 8 inch snowfall. The first flakes of the season always wipe out the first flakes of the season.

It's too bad they've already bred by this point, otherwise it wouldn't keep happening.

Thursday it was -40 in Laramie.

I chuckled.
I have come to believe that the whole world is an enigma, a harmless enigma that is made terrible by our own mad attempt to interpret it as though it had an underlying truth.
