Meanwhile in Vancouver we basically haven't had a summer at all.

Lots of people have been complaining, but frankly I prefer it to getting baked like the rest of you folks in the East. I can't handle that kind of hot temperatures for long.

The thunderstorms last night were bad. Wrath of God bad. Surprised there wasn't any tornadoes.

Still spent the night in the basement.

September is the perfect month.  Cool mornings and evenings, warm days.  Football comes back.  The kids are back in school.  Life is good.
I do not hate you, nor do I love you, but you are made out of atoms which I can use for something else.

This summer is officially the coldest and wettest summer since the start of the danish meteorological national records in 1874...

Not according to the danish meteorological institute. But it was fucking wet and boring.

Maybe coldest, but not wettest.

This week has had really nice weather for a change.  Highs in the mid 70's.  I pulled out my window unit and replaced it with a small fan.  It's only 63 right now.  Perfect.
I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011

Holy fuck - the kids going back to school are destroying my commute.  Took me an hour 15 to get to the office. :ultra:

Now you know my pain.  It takes me about 20 minutes now.  But I am willing to pay that 5 minute premium to not live in Edmonton.

Snow overnight in the mountains. The pass is closed in Truckee. It rained all day yesterday at my place ~1000ft below the snow level.
