It is far better for the truth to tear my flesh to pieces, then for my soul to wander through darkness in eternal damnation.

Jet: So what kind of woman is she? What's Julia like?
Faye: Ordinary. The kind of beautiful, dangerous ordinary that you just can't leave alone.
Jet: I see.
Faye: Like an angel from the underworld. Or a devil from Paradise.

Ed Miliband is the leader of the oppostion, or is he? Perhaps he is a cheap robot. Watch this video and judge for yourselves :

I fear for the country.

If it weren't BBC News I'd think this would be an Onion spoof.
I am, somehow, less interested in the weight and convolutions of Einstein's brain than in the near certainty that people of equal talent have lived and died in cotton fields and sweatshops.

"This cannot be real. Someone must be fucking with him at the Beeb."

But after carefully checking that he does indeed vary his response slightly every time, it becomes obvious that it's not an editing job.

Then again, he does look a bit... *cough*... brown.

You're in a desert walking along in the sand when all of the sudden you look down, and you see a tortoise, it's crawling toward you. You reach down, you flip the tortoise over on its back. The tortoise lays on its back, its belly baking in the hot sun, beating its legs trying to turn itself over, but it can't, not without your help. But you're not helping. Why is that?

Someone explain to me how that test was supposed to work.

I think we should stop the rhetoric, get round the negotiating table and stop this kind of Milliband from happening again.

That was painful. I fear for the labour party. Again. Still.

IIRC from the book, most animals had gone extinct (ergo: electric sheep), so a human would have some sort of emotional response when told about a real animal struggling to survive.
My aim, then, was to whip the rebels, to humble their pride, to follow them to their inmost recesses, and make them fear and dread us. Fear is the beginning of wisdom.

Although it was decided that my youngest sister was too young at his death to know the truth, so we told her that he was hibernating. He's been hibernating for a long time now.

There was an amusing comment under one of the articles I read about this minor fiasco, viz. :

"He is either on drugs or he should be."  :D
