German socialists call for boycott of Israel, deny Holocaust

The German far-left has a history of being anti-Israel, mostly in the guise of being pro-Palestinian. Right after the war, they were strongly pro-Isreal and the non-radical left still is in general. But the radicals changed their mind during the riots of 1967-68 and the anti-Israel sentiment was at its strongest in the 1970s. Not sure if it makes sense to distinguish between anti-Israel and anti-semitism here though, but what you hear from the radical left always aims at Israel, not at all Jews from what I can tell.

That's what I was thinking and why I got a chuckle from this statement:

Well I dont know for certain about the rest of the western european countries but it seems to me that most of the anti Israel/semitic drivel that gets portioned out comes from the left these days. The new wave of populist rightwing  parties that have risen are usually pro-israel. So in essence this doesnt come as a huge surprise seeing as I see a lot of the same stuff over here.

It was "The Mossad"/"The CIA"/"The Neo-Nazis" etc. I despise those who resort to conspiracy theoryism.

The Socialists that Syt mentions are real Socialists, not fake ones.

The 'Die Linke' Party is not the Social-democratic SPD, but a fusion between the PDS - the Party that succeeded the SED, the Communist Party of East Germany - and the Left wing of the SPD (which split from the SPD, as it realized that that Party had become part of a 'fake' Left).

The extreme left deals in theory and make-believe as if it were reality.  Although it's indisputable that the circumstances surrounding the founding of Israel reflect extremely badly on the Jews and sympathizers that founded it, it's not 1946 anymore.  What's happened has happened, and simply eliminating Israel isn't an option, nor would it be desirable even if it were.
