My current commute takes me about 20-30 minutes.  It's about...eh...14 or 15 miles.  Not too bad.

My longest was when I got back from my deployment and found myself living in Fallbrook, CA and having to drive to Point Loma, down in San Diego.  It was about 60 miles, took a long time (yay for California traffic!), and was just generally a fucking nightmare:

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=Fallbrook,+CA&daddr=Point+Loma,+San+Diego,+CA&hl=en&geocode=FaRI_QEdteMC-Sm3KBK6N4_bgDG0oRpc0NHAhQ%3BFZP28gEdEfUC-SnL33J-86vegDEy2AXPkZuLsg&mra=ls&sll=29.502505,-98.609955&sspn=0.119223,0.264187&ie=UTF8&ll=32.730686,-116.981049&spn=0.921877,2.113495&z=10

I eventually managed to get them to send me TAD to the Camp Pendleton Naval Hospital's quarterdeck until I got out of the Navy.  The cost of gas was just ruining me, and everything was made even more stupid by the fact that, due to the nature of the "assignment" (just sit around doing nothing for a couple hours at MSC, then go home), I was actually spending more time driving than I was "working."

The fact that I actually wanted to be on the quarterdeck all dressed up in whites or blues, answering phones, giving people directions, etc, for eight hours instead of sitting around in utilities bullshitting, drinking coffee, smoking, and watching ships pass by on the nice "balcony" (MSC is on top of a hill overlooking San Diego Bay and had a really nice covered balcony thing with a spectacular view) for a couple hours before going home should tell you how bad that commute was.

Oh and Fallbrook sucked.

50 km from home to office. Along the country's busiest stretch of highway. It can take me anywhere from 45 to 90 minutes.

10-15 minutes depending on traffic at the four-way stops.  Longest was first year in grad school, about 40 minutes by bus or T + walk.

Jet: So what kind of woman is she? What's Julia like?
Faye: Ordinary. The kind of beautiful, dangerous ordinary that you just can't leave alone.
Jet: I see.

My current commute is 22 miles.  Usually takes about 40 minutes, but can be less if traffic's light.

My longest was 65 miles.  It was almost all 4-lane highway, but it still generally took an hour and a half to get to work.  I worked mostly nights, so coming home there was very little traffic, and I could make it home in an hour.

4.5 km is my commute, which takes about 10 minutes.  My longest was 12.5 km, which I could do in as little as 13 minutes, but in rush hour took 30-35.
I do not hate you, nor do I love you, but you are made out of atoms which I can use for something else.
