In several surveys, the overwhelming first choice for what makes Canada unique is multiculturalism. This, in a world collapsing into stupid, impoverishing hatreds, is the distinctly Canadian national project.

Yeah. The designer mentions Here I Stand as the inspiration, but I really like a lot of the stuff in there, the period is awesome and the WW1 as a potential game end mini games is cool.

It looks real nice, but I fear I may never find another five people with the determination to do a full session.
Yeah. Looks like I'd enjoy it, but I don't think I'd ever get to play it.  Looks kind of like I'd need an area to leave it set up too.

It's on the list to try at my usual cons this summer, so will try to report back at some point. I am pretty hyped for it, considering my love of/experience with HIS and VQ.

We could try to get a Vassal game of IE going...  :hmm:
The medievals were only too right in taking nolo episcopari as the best reason a man could give to others for making him a bishop. Give me a king whose chief interest in life is stamps, railways, or race-horses; and who has the power to sack his Vizier (or whatever you care to call him) if he does not like the cut of his trousers.

Government is an abstract noun meaning the art and process of governing and it should be an offence to write it with a capital G or so as to refer to people.

Currently playing it with my boardgame group and loving it!

I'm up for a Vassal game.

I was soloing it. Very clever design IMHO. I absolutely am down for pbem.

bogh

Fuck it. I'll buy it.

Let's setup a Vassal PBEM game for a trial run.

Count me in.

You can find the Vassal module here, FWIW: https://vassalengine.org/library/projects/Imperial-Elegy-The-Road-to-the-Great-War-1850-1920

We can use the ACTS die roller here: http://acts.warhorsesim.com/dynamic/opendieroll.asp and post the results to a thread as necessary.

My antivirus (bitdefender) really, really does not like that ACTS site.  Are there any alternatives?

That is almost certainly due to the number of "mark as spam" reports that ACTS has received from the people who signed up for it over time and didn't just unsubscribe from their emails. It's 100% safe and tons of people use it on a daily basis.

I'll research options though.
