Obama doesn't have a Reagan to squash him like a bug.

As a candidate he was like Carter: both men are fantastically gifted orators; both had limited political experience at the time they ran; both have written inspirational autobiographies.

As a President Barack hasn't been much like Carter.    Carter was a notorious micro-manager allegedly even overseeing the schedule of the White House Tennis Courts; Barack seems to be better at delegating.  Carter tried to portray himself as just plain folks while Obama has wisely avoided doing the same.  Carter made human rights the cornerstone of his foreign policy, a change in direction from the previous administrations; while in Barack has continued the foreign policy of his predecessor.

The biggest similarity, in my opinion, is that both men had problems working with the opposition and dealing with congress even when their own party controlled both houses.
In Italy, for thirty years under the Borgias, they had warfare, terror, murder and bloodshed, but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci and the Renaissance. In Switzerland, they had brotherly love, they had five hundred years of democracy and peace—and what did that produce? The cuckoo clock

Obama is like Ford.

You can have him in any color as long as it's black?

You compared him to Hitler too.  I doubt he'll level Europe and commit Suicide.
I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011
