I think each data point is an average of the ratings for that year.  So a few good movies are getting overwhelmed by the bad.

Casino Royale (1967)

More entertaining than any Daniel Craig Bond. Also, Orson Welles > Mads Mikkelsen. 
Very good '60s psychedelic entertainment. Very uneven though given the film structure. Lots of movie references inside, à la pré-Tarantino.

10 Cloverfield Lane. A pleasant surprise. Very tense and scary, while showing very little. It's funny because the movie is essentially [spoiler]the Tim Robbins bit of The War of the Worlds[/spoiler] but good.
