Trainwreck. The funny parts are ok, the dramatic parts rather meh.
To sleep, perchance to dream. But in that sleep of death, what dreams may come?

Finished up the first six episodes of Fear the Walking Dead. Not bad. Not great either.

Antman- A strange film. Doesn't really feel like Marvel. All those one punch knock outs....
The Avengers references feel...strange. And Falcon's appearance... 1: He is a dick, 2: Underscores the silly 'budget superhero' feel of the film that when a lone Avenger appears, its the bottom of the pile guy who barely featured in the last film.
Overall....I expected much better. It isn't quite comedic enough to be a comedy but its just too stupid to be a serious action film- true this could be said of most Marvel films, but the balance just isn't there in this one.

Why would the A-List guys be stuck with guard duty though?

'Tintin et le mystère de la Toison d'Or' 'Tintin and the Golden Fleece' 1961.

A pretty good old fashioned adventure made watchable by being set in the then poverty stricken Eastern Mediterranean. Very nice photography (cinematography) ,Greece from 50 years ago looks idyllic.

Yes, also a mid-60s one too, but by all accounts not very good.

The other example of Tintin live action, Tintin and the Blue Oranges. Same actor for Tintin, Jean-Pierre Talbot, not bad, but had a different actor for Captain Haddock, in full overacting mode. Hilarious but haram for Tintin fanatics. Until Spielberg's Tintin that is.

Watched it as kid on TV, then some years ago at the Cinémathèque.

Spielberg's Tintin was awful.

The old animated show is damn great anyway. Nothing else is needed.

It was supposed to be a two movie deal, have they officially cancelled the second one already after the failure of the first?

Development hell. Not officially cancelled, but not much progress being made (they have been fooling around with the script and such). It's safe to think it's not going to happen.

Duque, thanks for that, since there's so little on UK tv this Xmas maybe I'll try and catch that too.   :bowler:

edit:
The only other thing I've enjoyed on tv so far has been 'Toy Story Of Horror'.

I need a fun Christmas film for the family tomorrow. Nightmare before Christmas and The Muppet Christmas Carol are already stale.
