Is La La Land actually worth seeing?  Would I find it decent in its own right?  It's hard to tell from what Languish and others have said.  I'd like to know what all the fuss is about since it's set to be the year's big winner, but budget and time constraints mean I'd probably have to see it to the exclusion of Moonlight.

Nocturnal Animals does seem somewhat interesting, even though I didn't go for it earlier; but it's now at the point of its trajectory where there's only one theater in Seattle showing it at 4:40pm on Wednesday and Thursday of this week, before it vanishes.

To me La La Land seems to be extremely well done escapism, while Moonlight exclaims "serious, important drama". It'd depend on what you're looking for at the moment of watching the film.

I wouldn't call a musical escapism, unless that includes escaping from everything that's still worthwhile in this world.

It's so weird to me seeing how musicals provoke such a rabid reaction in some people.

I have several obsessives in my family.  My cousin is a pro even.
Also I care for good music.

Watchning Andromeda reruns.  Damn, that was cheesy, and there was some real bad acting there.

Japanese Summer: Double Suicide. A really crazy B&W sex-filled attack on Japanese society from the 1967 counterculture.

I utterly love that movie. One of my favorite Japanese flicks.

Ed Anger

Hot shots!

Forgot about Valeria Golino. :wopboner:
Stay Alive...Let the Man Drive

Bridge of Spy: good parts are still good on second view.  The Dulles scene is silky smooth.

Doesn't that U2 ditch scene feel kind of implausible?
