Captain America: Civil War is 10/10

The action is way better than any other Marvel movie, even the Winter Soldier and unlike BvS, you actually care about the people fighting and why. Spiderman and Black Panther are awesome additions.

Way to spoil the movie!

I've seen both Avengers movies and most of the stand-alones, never particularly cared about the characters.  :hmm:

The Assassin. One of those wuxia films that from time to time achieve critic darling status in the West. It's very beautiful, but rather low on actual wuxia and extremely slow and hard to follow. Which I guess is prerequisite for achieving the aforementioned critic darling status.

Point Break remake. Not as bad as I expected, but still not as fun as the original. They really ramped up the extreme sports angle for this one. Also, the personalities weren't very strong(you really feel the lack of Swayze and Busey and even Lori Petty). The robbing banks in President masks thing got cut to 5 seconds of background.  <_<

The best part of the training film is when he talks about the Kentucky rifle.  :D

It is far better for the truth to tear my flesh to pieces, then for my soul to wander through darkness in eternal damnation.

Jet: So what kind of woman is she? What's Julia like?
Faye: Ordinary. The kind of beautiful, dangerous ordinary that you just can't leave alone.
Jet: I see.
Faye: Like an angel from the underworld. Or a devil from Paradise.

The Jungle Book (2016)

Entertaining, but not as much fun as the original cartoon (or the book, for that matter.)  Ben Kingsley is exceptional Bagheera; and Scarlett Johannson and Bill Murray do a decent job as Kaa and Baloo respectively.  Christopher Walken was a disappointment as Louis, the director didn't seem to know if the character should be silly or menacing.  (I came in with really high expectations for Walken in the role, though, so your mileage may vary.)  It might have helped if they would have CGIed in Mowgli as well.

The director does do a good job of making the jungle seem mysterious and threatening; that might be the biggest improvement over the cartoon.

In Italy, for thirty years under the Borgias, they had warfare, terror, murder and bloodshed, but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci and the Renaissance. In Switzerland, they had brotherly love, they had five hundred years of democracy and peace—and what did that produce? The cuckoo clock
