Steve Pemberton's new adaptation of Mapp and Lucia.

Wonderful. Miranda Richardson's teeth deserved separate billing.

Expendables 3- If you loved the first one, you'll probably still enjoy this one. There is definitely a continued drop off though. Antonio Banderas was very funny. Snipes was ok. Gibson, Grammer and Ford didn't add anything to the franchise. The "old team rescues young whippersnappers" theme was pretty cringe-worthy, if you allowed yourself to think on it much.

Maleficent- Surprisingly enjoyable. For those who don't know, it's a reimagining of Sleeping Beauty from the villain's POV. I do think the more nuanced portrayal of Maleficent is lessened a bit by turning the king into the fairy tale villain.

The Giver- Kind of schmaltzy defense of the place of emotion in human life. Streep and Bridges phoned it in. It was alright-ish though.

Frequencies- Not a bad way to spend a hundred minutes. It's an indie/British light sci-fi film that tries to tackle some interesting questions that don't really have answers.

Crusade does have the best banter, I'll give you that.

Yeah, and you know why?  Because it's the sell-out of the franchise.  It's the fucking Star Trek IV of the whole goddamned lot.
