It is silly. Jerusalem was a thoroughly Muslim city before the Jews and their British puppets took it back by force.

This is like Christians demanding Turkey give up Constantinople since it was IN ANOTHER ERA the most important Christian city in the world.

Arabs were minority in Jerusalem until Jordan conquered it in 1948 and expelled everybody.

Didn't the crusaders massacre everybody in the city when they took it? That would suggest that there was no Jewish quarter in the city in 1099.

I think it's often written they massacred everyone but that seems somewhat unlikely.  Contemporary sources never make that claim.
