SoI've watched all the games of the Series so far (only 10 innings of the Monday game). I haven't really watched baseball seriously since 1993 (I have been to several Jays games at Skydome since then but only to drink expensive beers and catch up with some out-of-towner old friends).

I never knew they changed some rules.I like the automatic intentional walk, for instance. In my day (cue Grandpa Simpson voice) the pitcher would have to throw wild pitches four times to intentionally walk a batter). I was looking forward on Monday to seeing something I'd read about; how extra innings start with a runner on second already; but alas apparently that doesn't happen in the playoffs. So those that know, does this happen EVERY extra inning or just the first one?

In several surveys, the overwhelming first choice for what makes Canada unique is multiculturalism. This, in a world collapsing into stupid, impoverishing hatreds, is the distinctly Canadian national project.

That's just recency bias. The 2024 Blue Jays sucked & before that they were a middling team like the Leafs.

The Minsky Moment

The Blue Jays averaged over 90 wins from 2021 to 2023, in a competitive division. The pitching collapsed in 2024 and a couple guys (Bichette and Springer) had historically bad off years, all at the same time.  It's more likely that 2024 is the outlier year rather than the four surrounding years.
We have, accordingly, always had plenty of excellent lawyers, though we often had to do without even tolerable administrators, and seen destined to endure the inconvenience of hereafter doing without any constructive statesmen at all.

That's what I said, middling.

I said I wish the Leafs were "this good"...ie as good as the Jays are now, today.

I think everyone would be happy if the Leafs were as good as the Jays during any period of the Jays history

They stranded too many runners. Not their best game (says the guy who's seen three). Let's see today.
