I just flipped it on for a couple of minutes when I went out to the garage for a smoke & caught the beginning of visiting Plaxico in the slammer for an interview.  Joy...

You missed the Obama interview just before that.  I don't know about you CCR, but nothing gets me more fired up for some footbaw than President Obama talking about health care and 9/11.

Also Phil Mickleson making "picks" by seeing which golf ball goes farther.  There was apparently some sort of ape or something making picks earlier too.

Marvelous.

I can't decide who I hate more:  the dumbass execs that put that crap on the air or the dumbass people that watch that crap, making it profitable for the dumbass execs to air it.  What came first -- the chicken or the egg?

That's one of the major appeals to me about being a big fan of an American hockey team that hasn't won a championship in fifty years -- the lack of Hype...

Good god, I'd really forgotten how overblown the team intros are... :bowler:

Fucking kids...

My seven-year-old accidentally grabbed the wrong potato skin (I like onions on mine, whereas my daughter & wife do not), but instead of just telling me that she took a bite out of the wrong one she threw it into the garbage.  If I wasn't wearing Sunday Sweatpants the belt would have come off...

Oh, and go Saints.  I won't be crushed if Indy wins, but I'd rather see New Orleans go all the way...

:ccr

I am the opposite.  I don't really care one way or the other, but I have found myself hoping the Colts win for some reason.

I see.  Then let us bet upon our diametrically opposed near-indifference -- if Indy wins then I must consume one unit of the beverage of my choice, and if New Orleans wins then you must consume one unit of the beverage of your choice.  Deal?

Deal.  I guess, not that I really care.  :P

Within the first 3 possessions, I'm already sick of the Manning ass-licking.  They're treating a short-snap drive and a field goal like a long running play.

It is quite noticable, isn't it?

As I thought 15 years ago when I watched the superbowl reasonably regularly, how do you Americans put up with all the advert breaks?

"Superbowl commercials" have become somewhat of a capitalist spectacle in and of themselves; it's when advertising firms traditionally bring out the heavy hitters designed for both entertainment as well as advertisements.

Guess I'm missing that with the BBC. The best they have managed is an advert for an upcoming documentary presented by Michael Johnson...about Downhill Skiing.

LOL, that Tebow ad was what caused such a fuss?

I'm told from someone who knew Tebow growing up that the ad was substantially toned down from the original scripts so as to not risk damaging Timmy's fundraising capability.
