My tactical escort is a death dealing machine. quantum and photon in two of my fore slots deal major damage.

I've got dual phaser bank and dual plasma cannon in front along with quantum torp.
and plasma torp and  hybrid beam in back.

i used to have a torp in the back on my old escort for a bit, but i'm more of a head on guy. So i heavy heavy dual plasma, dual plasma beams, quantum, photon* in the front, and two tachyon(?) turrets in the aft.

we should form a PVP party to kill some klingons. damn sneaky kilings. i've tried twice, but my party kept splitting up to investigate guys baiting them, and they get picked off.

*my second is a photon torpedo because of the faster reload. i do have anotehr quantum torpedo launcher in my bank.

Trials already? Always nice if they take the time to work the bugs out with us idiots that bought it too soon  :D

And a full  5 days heh.

I think they now have it in pretty good shape.

Memory Alpha still sucks but I dont see them implementing a decent crafting system/economy any time soon.

Hmm, im still having regular server not responding and pvp team unbalances but other than that, I agree.

Finally figured out where I could get a phaser turret to stick in my rear-firing arc.   :)

Also decided that while a high yield quantum torp up the tailpipe after tachyon beaming the sheilds down was awesome, a lot of combat revolves around fighting numerous and smaller enemies, and straight DPS of a photon torp was more useful.

Oddly, for once IGN sums up my feelings about the game so far:

I will keep playing it off and on when I'm tickled for space action.

Har de har har.

Seriously - if you're in a reasonably mobile ship I don't see a whole lot of use to rear-firing weapon slots.  Sure they're 'canon', just not very useful.

Fate

I assume they're more useful in PVP where you have a competent opponent who will continually attempt to flank you.
