Help on Win Mobile 6.1?

This might seem stupid, but I got an Ericsson Xpedia X1 with win mobile 6.1... and for some reason it shows all messages as strings, like chat messages, and i can't get it to turn an ordinary "inbox" list back on.

Any ideas?
