Vino, red, and Sam Adams.

A shot of Bushmill's was traditional with my brothers and cousins.

We don't drink during christmas, or during any family occasions. Too much alcoholism in the family.
First Maxim - "There are only two amounts, too few and enough."
First Corollary - "You cannot have too many soldiers, only too few supplies."
Second Maxim - "Be willing to exchange a bad idea for a good one."
Second Corollary - "You can only be wrong or agree with me."

A terrorist which starts a slaughter quoting Locke, Burke and Mill has completely missed the point.
The fact remains that the only person or group to applaud the Norway massacre are random Islamists.

I'm not even 100% sure what eggnog IS. I imagine not unlike Advocaat. The notion that there might be a version without alcohol that people actually willingly drink boggles the mind.
That's how I feel about apple juice.  Let's have a goddamn glass of wort while we're at it.

Egg nog is an American inventions, I think, though I could be wrong. It's a sort of creamy milk thing, that you're supposed to add rum to it. It's pretty vile, which is why I think it's American.

We usually do not use Middle English words like 'Nog' when we name things.

You should.

Maybe.  But we don't speak Middle English :P

Eggnog comes from fermented milk drinks in the Middle Ages.  During the Colonial Period the English added rum to it.  Do they no longer drink it in Blighty?  I blame Jamaican independence.

I am not really much of an Eggnog fan either truth be told.

 It comes from fermented milk?  I know fermented milk is popular in Central Asia, but I didn't realize they drank it in medieval Europe.

It was popular among tribal nomads because milk was a staple of their diet.  It was not popular in medieval europe because milk was a rare luxury to the common man on the street.  It was something enjoyed almost entirely by the aristocracy.

I'm not much of an alcohol drinking man...but the Moose Milk the resident Canadians made at my last posting, was pretty darned good.

I don't know exactly how it is made, but I doubt it...as I usually despise eggnog.

Gin and tonics at the Christmas Party I go to, and then seasonal microbrews when out at the bar in addition to the usual Jameson's, Labatt Blue Light, and Utica Club.
