How effective is it when your target is not standing ten feet away from you up against a wall?

Mine's fairly accurate, but I couldn't imagine using it on the battlefield against targets that shoot back.  The time I shot a Luger, however, it felt: natural

Maybe, but often you had a Maxim gunner to take care of any targets you missed.
