This weird monster mash franchise needs to either die or add Abbot and Costello.
I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011

No way.  This is a great franchise and works well for games.  AvP 2 was fantastic.  The space marine campaign is one of the best single player experiences around.

Don't know why they can't seem to make a decent movie out of it.

Because they don't quite understand how to do decent movies of that sort anymore.  Murder porn is way more popular with the kids.  Instead of having a tension-filled pursuit ala Alien or Predator, or a bughunt like Aliens, they make movies where the characters are essentially cardboard cutouts with the word 'VICTIM' printed on their foreheads.  They use effects to try and make the creatures 'wow' us and be visually striking.  The impact of the monsters is lessened.

I never saw Alien v Predator 1 (the film), but if it was like Alien v Predator 2 it deserves to die.  In a fire. After having much of it's skin removed.
