Vancouver is in trouble. they can't seem to go all 3 periods with any form of pressure.

The Hawks did a little better tonight.  They still had poblems staying out of the box, but they stepped up & made it happen.  I really wanted them to steal one of the games in Vancouver & they did it, so I hope that they can bring it home & Stick It In & Break It Off.  I'm still waiting for the game that they light Luongo up like a pinball machine, though...

Also, I'd like it to be on record that I broke a stick tonight.  The Titan with the floor/street hockey blade that I had been beating around all playoffs this year cracked right through the plastic blade, so I switched up to the Winiwell & it seemed to pay off.  Dunno.  We'll see.  If by the end of the playoffs I'm down to the Canadien goalie stick, well, then so be it.  Whatever it takes...

Charlie don't surf and Canucks don't play Defense it seems.

The Canucks are still believing the media hype that since the Hawks happened to play a couple of bad games against them during the regular season then they're a craptacular team.  Well, shucks, Pork Chop -- I think that that particular theory just got shot to shit.  That's not to say that the Vancouver Canucks aren't capable of winning this series, that's just saying that "this is the matchup that we were hoping for" might or might not be they're choice of words that they were looking for...

Well, after it happened things started going well for the Hawks, but the foam puck that I like to shoot around the garage during games without fear of breaking anything disappeared, so I'll need to find it before Tuesday...

Anyways, if there's a way that I can be humble & placating to you about tonight's game while still sounding like a condescending ass to the person that wanted to Talk Smack about the series, well, I hope that we can find it.  Like I said earlier, every game this series really will be Anything Can Happen Night, and I can appreciate that you want your team to do well (as do I & my team) without us being dicks about it...

The report from rinkside.

Seats were great.  Five rows up from the ice next to the face-off button to the right of the visitors bench.  The positive of being in those seats is all the Canuck goals happened right in front of us.  The further positive is we saw The Save up close.  The replays make it look spectacular but to have seen Luongo cover that distance so quickly right in front of me was really something.

I also had a good view of all the second period Blackhawk goals...

Three pucks came into the crowd in my general area.  The one that caused the delay penalty and put the Canucks two men down in the second happened right in front of me but it just dropped into the first row so I was not able to recover it for Neil.

Now if I could invent a stick that didnt break I could quit my day job.  I will get a prototype over to CCR for testing.

After the game we went to the Casino across from the arena and played some Craps.  That went better then the hockey game.

Seeing the game up close I put the odds of the Hawks winning the series a lot higher.  Not just because of the score but because of the attitude they showed which doesnt come across very well on TV.  The are young aggressive and are playing like they have something to prove.  The Canucks are going to have to match their intensity.

Neil

Well, it looks like the Canucks shouldn't start planning their victory parade yet.  I guess when Chicago turned it on at the end of the last game, they broke Luongo and turned him into a sieve.

In other news:  Fuck you Sidney Crosby!
I do not hate you, nor do I love you, but you are made out of atoms which I can use for something else.

Neil, did you notice the score at the end of the 1st was 2-0 Canucks and the saves he was making.  It is hardly Luongo's fault that team stopped skating

No.  I didn't watch the game.  I was out.

All I know is that he gave up more goals in one game than he did in the whole first series.

Caps beat the Pens 3-2.  Which is OK, I guess.

Ok?!  It is spectacular! :yeah:

The Pen curse shall be shattered.

The coolest thing about the Detroit/Anaheim game is that there was only a 45 minute wait before the Boston game comes on...

I hate Anaheim.

Don't care at all about Bruins or Canes. Yawn.

Cheering for Caps (even though they knocked out Lundqvist) over Pens any day.

Slightly favour Canucks over the Blackhawks.
Come writers and critics who prophesize with your pen, and keep your eyes wide the chance won't come again; but don't speak too soon for the wheel's still in spin, and there's no telling who that it's naming. For the loser now will be later to win, cause the times they are a-changin'. -- B Dylan
