I can see the Hermann Goering Division dealing with the Taliban in Helmand province already.

That would be AWESOME.

Then send in the Dirlewanger brigade.

QuoteThe details are more problematic than the size. Congress and military contractors already forced Obama to accept $560 million for the new engine that the Pentagon doesn't want for the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter. The defense appropriations bill, the next step in the spending process, is expected to make him accept $2.5 billion for 10 new C-17 cargo jets he doesn't want, and $1.7 billion for another DDG-51 destroyer he doesn't need
The Obama administration is becoming somewhat pathetic. Stuff like this doesn't make me angry anymore, just kind of sad.

Oh, and why are we killing off the F-22? How is it different from the F-35?
My aim, then, was to whip the rebels, to humble their pride, to follow them to their inmost recesses, and make them fear and dread us. Fear is the beginning of wisdom.

It's slower, more visible and cheaper. Plus, it's more than good enough for anything the chinese or russians might have.

A terrorist which starts a slaughter quoting Locke, Burke and Mill has completely missed the point.
The fact remains that the only person or group to applaud the Norway massacre are random Islamists.

Plus, it is still on paper and thus even cheaper and more effective than any actual aircraft like it could be.

Spending a couple billion to keep the production line running is just wasteful spending

Thank God that the Obama is looking out for us, then.

But then people couldn't enlist and know there was no danger of getting put in an infantry slot.

You don't get put in an infantry slot against your will. You have to volunteer.

Yeah, yeah, the pogs do convoy security. So what. Going from point A to point B while being shot at a couple times is nowhere near of what the infantry does.

There is still the Navy.
