So... I love vests. Not just sweater vests (har har  ) but all kinds of vests. Worn on shirts, without a need for a jacket etc.

I think vests are a great man fashion accessory. They accentuate a man's build and generally look great.

But what does the rest of Languish think? :P

Not so much.  I don't think I've worn one in my life outside of the ones that are part of tuxedos.
"Everything that brought you here -- all the things that made you a prisoner of past sins -- they are gone. Forever and for good. So let the past go... and live."

"Somebody, after all, had to make a start. What we wrote and said is also believed by many others. They just don't dare express themselves as we did."

Never worn one, but I've seen people wearing them. Usually older people, although here they're part of high school students uniforms, at least for my school.

Vests are horrible.  Maybe for Halloween or costume parties they're ok.

What did the policeman say to his chest?

You're under a vest.

EDIT: What the hell? You're talking about waistcoats.
" SIR – I must commend you on some of your recent obituaries. I was delighted to read of the deaths of Foday Sankoh (August 9th), and Uday and Qusay Hussein (July 26th). Do you take requests? "

You mean waistcoats (vests) and tanktops (sweatervests), not underwear vests, right?

Tailored waistcoats are fashionable again, worn with a smart shirt, no tie and jeans. Tank tops have to be very new and very fashionable (ski knits are in this season) and on the right person, otherwise you run right into the granddad look. Grey knitted = a no-no.

What do you call a tanktop?
That depends - what do YOU call a tanktop? A sleeveless t-shirt?

A sleeveless t-shirt that's designed to wear as an outer garment.

I would avoid them, Mart, they make you look gay.
I have come to believe that the whole world is an enigma, a harmless enigma that is made terrible by our own mad attempt to interpret it as though it had an underlying truth.
