I am, somehow, less interested in the weight and convolutions of Einstein's brain than in the near certainty that people of equal talent have lived and died in cotton fields and sweatshops.

.... and?

It seems to be marketed as very soloable, so I'm somewhat interested.

My play time for games in general has been cut back so much I can't give a great review so far.
I've made two characters so far, the customization is pretty amazing, the highest character is only lvl 11, but yes very soloable up to this point.

Because I was bored I bought the game download which was cheap, weak dollar be thanked.

Customizing a hero is fun and I spent considerable time trying out various archetypes (gunslinger, martial artist, single/dual blade, archer, powerhouse, power armor, tinkerer, fire, electricity, ice, magic, etc.) and designing folks.

I created:

Crimson Blade, dual wielding swords, acrobatics as travel skill (speed and jumping)

Carano, mage, flying platform

Basher, might, jumping

Gearhead, power armor, jetboots

Sir William, axe, fast runner

Huntress, an alien archer, acrobatics.

And my favorite:

LVC-68, gun slinger, jetboots.

While I like the game design and the huge amount of customization (in character development, too) that's possible here I'm yet underwhelmed. Trying out those characters in one (!) tutorial area and two (!) n00b areas (frozen Canada, irradiated desert) that seem rather uninspired and bland leave a somewhat bitter taste in my mouth. The typical types of quests (kill, collect, escort, fetch) don't help much, either.
