Quartett is a visual novel made by Littlewitch,, a company set apart from others with a distinctive softer style employing watercolor effects reminiscent of shoujo manga, and dialogue presented as more dynamic bubbles as opposed to overimposed text, which gives the story a lighter and brighter tone while keeping attention on the art.

The setting is a music school seemingly in Austria, and much of the game's focus is on music, besides the emotional development of the cast, who are primarily made up of the titular quartett that aims to perform in an upcoming string concert. The game's soundtrack is quite good, and borrows a number of classical pieces.

Like most visual novels, gameplay is limited to dialogue choices at branching sections to control the story.

The same company has released a game with expanded gameplay focusing on studying magic in a world where mundane technology has largely supplanted weakening magical arts, Little Witch Romanesque, and its english translation is due to be released on steam soon. Romaneque features a variety of magical classes which can be studied, and some combination of them is necessary to clear various hurdles- very similar to HanakoGames' Long Live the Queen.
