I concede the point.

Damn right. I can drop leaky vagina into any conversation.
That should be a Languish challenge.  How many threads can you fit int hat?

Is it me or are these scandals more frequent of late? The right is losing any moral highground it may have claimed to have.

Heh, not really: the fact of "falling from grace" by being revealed as reveling in all of the stuff they condemn doesn't really damage the "moral right", it strengthens it.

The reason is this: moral "rightness", in sexual matters at least, is based on the act of condemning someone. The fact that someone has "fallen from grace" just demonstrates the power of the condemnation.

You will know that the "moral right' has lost the high ground when some politico caught fucking a whore or another dude or whatever says to the public "you know, it is none of your goddam business who I chose to fuck".  ;)  The ritual of the carefully-worded "regret" plus resignation for being "caught" merely strengthens the notion that what he did was indeed a sin and a big deal - sure he's a hypocrite, but then, we are all of us "sinners".

Too funny. What a "messy" situation this guy has gotten himself into.....

And the woman is no better but at least she has less to lose, perhaps, depending on  her own ambitions. Unless her ambition centers around having sex, maybe winding up pregnant (ala John Edwards lover), with a married with children older guy who she's just having an affair with because he's a power broker.

they come in phase, imho.  Last time, it was a wave of preachers, now it's a wave of politicians.

Btw, here's the video where he brags about it:

I don't do meditation.  I drink alcohol to relax, like normal people.

If Microsoft Excel decided to stop working overnight, the world would practically end.

And the woman is no better

Far worse.  She banged a repulsive old fat man and he is only a state representative.  I mean at least go for a US Congressman if you are going to debase yourself that thoroughly.

Frankly, he is my hero.

You might want to reconsider:

"[M]y decision to resign is in no way an admission that I had an affair or affairs. My offense was engaging in inappropriate story-telling and I regret my language and choice of words."

I have to say, the "no, really, I was lying when I said I fucked the shit out of her" defense is more than a little lame.

If people choose to buy it, it may save the woman's career. Seems reasonable to me.

So, France is where the 'moral right' has lost its high ground?
Let's bomb Russia!
