Ok, here are the results

1. Socialist Left, the wicked witch of the left. Presently Finance Minister. (6%)
2. Labour Party. Presently Prime Minister. (30%)
3. Center Party, this is the farmers party. Local Government Minister. (5%)
4. Left Party, ecofriendly nice liberals. Opposition but hates the wicked witch of the right. (6%)
5. Christian Peoples Party, social conservatives. Opposition but severely dislikes the wicked witch of the right. (6%)
6. Right Party, business friendly. Opposition, willing to work with wicked witch of the right. (14%)
7. Progress Party, right wing populist, wicked witch of the right. 25(%)

with most recent poll results. Likely government? Labour Party minority government since the government will lose it's majority and the 4. and 5. parties refuse to even talk to 7. about a government. 6. is too small to form a government on it's own, but 4. 5. and 7. are all willing to work with them.

Why is the Center Party in the leftist coalition government while the Left party sits out?

Why is the Center Party in the leftist coalition government while the Left party sits out?

The names for those two parties are about ~125 years old and are from a time when the Left party was a nationalist liberal radical party agitating for independence from Sweden and the Center Party represented smallholding farmers who didn't like being labelled as either left or right and wished to moderate the radical left and prod the conservative right party.

It is far better for the truth to tear my flesh to pieces, then for my soul to wander through darkness in eternal damnation.

Jet: So what kind of woman is she? What's Julia like?
Faye: Ordinary. The kind of beautiful, dangerous ordinary that you just can't leave alone.
Jet: I see.
Faye: Like an angel from the underworld. Or a devil from Paradise.

I always go for the swarthiest in Scandi polls in the hope of avoiding the invariably popular racist.  It worked :w00t:

It's hardly mainstream. The disfunction of the norwegian system is that most parties won't even talk with them. But strangely enough this doesn't stop the parties talking to the party that wants to leave NATO.

7 is the only one regularly accused of racism. Though when 6 was the minister responsible for asylumseekers she was accused of racism, but then again everybody in that job get accused of that if they try to do their job.

It would've worked in Denmark a few years back.
