CC junior had his first football practice yesterday.

At first I was not going to let him play football but after months of pleading, his internet research showing how safe it was and how good the league was he finally broke my will and I gave in.

Good news is he has a great coach.  An ex NHL player who had the option of going to Ohio State on a full football scholarship back in the day.  He has a great style with the kids.

I loved his opening talk with the kids.  "If you don't like to hit or be hit you should not play this game [brief pause] but if you like to hit I can teach you to flatten your opponent!"  -  Big grins from all the boys.

That is the part where Jake would leave...

"If you think this has a happy ending, then you haven't been paying attention."

"If you can play a guitar and harmonica at the same time, like Bob Dylan or Neil Young, you're a genius. But make that extra bit of effort and strap some cymbals to your knees, suddenly people want to get the hell away from you."  --Rich Hall
