Woltemade was a big signing for Newcastle.

He hardly made a dent in the Premier League. Just big and a bit clumsy, and totally bereft of confidence in the later stages of the season.

He scored one of the goals of the season though in the Tyne-Wear derby

Considering how weak our league is, it's a testament to the FFF's methods how well the national team has been performing.

Even looking beyond France I feel like the number of players from Ile-de-France in different teams in the World Cup must have something to do with FFF's efforts in youth development.
