It's a conundrum. If I was alone I'd, like RH, setup camp near an obvious target and hope for instantaneous death. I have had a good run, why bother trying to scrape through some extra months in the new hellscape.

But  with a wife and a toddler, I'd owe it to them to offer what meager survival chances I can. But how? If it's a sudden nuking  we'll likely survive the direct strikes but be showered in fallout and I suspect there are WAY more people around the wider M25 circle than food reserves so... IDK. Maybe rather than just sit and wait to die, die while trying hopelessly to track back to one of our families in Eastern Europe, but with all cars EMP-ed we won't get far.

If it's something that has a near-obvious buildup perhaps try and figure out what's the remotest area of Wales and try to time an Airbnb there? Maybe fly to my parents' place a prep. Could easily end up just as bad as here but from fallout protection to longer-term survival it's the best bet out of available options.

I wasn't just focusing on nuclear annihilations, it's quite possible that not too many nukes are used, enough to destroy government and much military, but leaving large numbers of civilians alive, the one's in American being armed to the teeth; think 21st century 'Sea Peoples'.

I screwed up, I was just in Portugal a few days ago, where I would have better chances in the countryside near Bragança than in Paris.

I had pinpointed a hamlet, somewhat isolated, where I had some family.

Duque, no it's not too late, but hang around any longer and you'll get increasing numbers of European languishite wanting to tag along, if you'll only meet them at the Gare du Nord.
