I'm going to move to a different bedroom this evening, a bit bigger, but as it's currently a 'store room' there'll be a fair bit of moving stuff and furniture around.

But I haven't decided where or how to orientate the bed, currently nearly exactly West-East, for the morning sunshine, but perhaps North-South as there's no East facing window.

So which way do you sleep and what has felt better for you down the years, iirc there's limited evidence that direction does affect how we humans sleep, do you have any experiences of a difference?

I orient my bed based on the room, not the compass.  The foot of the bed faces the wall with the door in it.

South-North but this is the very first time in my life that I have given any consideration to this.  :D

It was the way our big bed fit the tiny bedroom and it would feel weird to have my head toward the door. That's it.

I don't practice Shang Tsung so whatever fits the room best.

Not a poll error, but I did manage to vote incorrectly, I actually sleep East-West.  :Embarrass:

I orient my bed in a way that gives my bedroom the most useful space.  It can make a huge difference to how big your bedroom feels just by where you put the bed.

Grey Fox

My house is oriented in a North-East - South-West manner & so is the floor plan. My bed is therefore in the same orientation.

Bedroom window is on the west side of the house and my feet are facing west just because thats what makes sense with the shape of the room.
I've definitely had rooms in the past where sunrise was a pain but I just bought blackout curtains for this.

South-North. Same rationale as previously alluded to: feet pointed in the direction of the door.

I had to check a map. My bed is oriented towards the Southwest to Northeast apparently. But of course that just follows the layout of the room.

HisMajestyBOB

South-North, so that the Earth's magnetic field can recharge my brainwaves while I sleep.

This.  Well, close to this...door is on a side wall corner, and opposite would put the head in front of a window.  So the closest orientation that best matches that spirit.  Turns out to be S-N in this case.

I just recently moved...was N-S in my last place.  :P
