The Minsky Moment

Quote from: Maladict on October 20, 2025, 12:42:50 PMHere's the description, courtesy of ChatGTP

1 PVV – Fear-mongering for votes.

2 GroenLinks–PvdA – Idealism masking impotence.

3 VVD – Greed dressed as pragmatism.

4 NSC – Empty promises in a shiny package.

5 D66 – Bureaucrats pretending to care.

6 BBB – Populism with tractors.

7 CDA – Compromise to avoid taking a stand.

8 SP – Rhetoric over results.

9 DENK – Exploiting identity for influence.

10 PvdD – Morality posturing for votes.

11 FvD – Reactionary nostalgia as spectacle.

12 SGP – Dogma before people.

13 CU – Sanctimony in a suit.

14 Volt – Utopians ignoring reality.

15 JA21 – Recycled right-wing clichés.

Tough choice between "Empty promises in a shiny package" and "Rhetoric over results."  On the one hand, I do like some good rhetoric. On the other hand, who can resist a shiny package?

I could always just go for 13.  Not a big fan of sanctimony, but just about anything can look good in the right suit.
We have, accordingly, always had plenty of excellent lawyers, though we often had to do without even tolerable administrators, and seen destined to endure the inconvenience of hereafter doing without any constructive statesmen at all.

Which cliches?

Culture wars, anti DEI, anti supranational organizations, efficiency minister, take back control, law and order, etc etc

Norgy

The nature of the electoral system will make it impossible to form a majority anyway, so I went with the woman I found most attractive.

I haven't been to the Netherlands for a decade or so, but my impression was that it was a very ordered country. Like Germany, only with taller people and as soon as you set foot outside a city, there are greenhouses and heavily cultivated fields.

I suppose you Dutch debate immigration. Again. Why not debate why you are all 3 metric metres tall?  ;)

The Dutch even calculated the cost benefits of immigration. Iirc it cost as much as the entirety of revenues of all the gas they pumped up.
Poof, and it's gone.

Wonder how much DENK, the Turko-islamist party posing as leftist yet more and more if not already taqqiya-style islamist reactionary when it suits them, cost as part of that equation.  :hmm:

Another lie.
THEY didn't do that. A group of economists funded by the FvD did.
Their methodology sucked and it wasn't published in a reputable journal or peer reviewed.
When I read about it I saw that they used a lot of the typical correlation=causation tricks to mask the true reasons why some people are less economically productive than others. They focussed on immigration and worked backwards from there to prove immigration is bad rather than performing a neutral analysis.
