Idiocracy was dystopia of idiots, but in the end well-intentioned ones - they just couldn't do any better.

Right now, we're going to a place where meanness is cherished and celebrated.

Idiocracy does indeed seem to be it.
With a dash of some techy stuff, though I'm not sure of a good up to date cyberpunk adjacent thing. Cyberpunk doesn't fit the world of today.
