Makes me think of Lars Lagerbäck. Sweden's best manager since '94. He was ridiculed for being boring and kicked out and since then we've not had it and he went on to take on England with Iceland...
Methinks the English will miss Southgate in years to come.

I'm pleased the Dutch lost in soul crushing fashion at least.

My concern is 1st period England could offer a challenge for Spain. 2nd period England would be rolled over. Hope Southgate goes 2nd period England.

On Southgate I've just spur of the moment thought of a solution.
Soithgate remains head coach.
We appoint some eccentric foreigner as second head coach.
Southgate governs games that matter.
The crazy guy gets free reign when it comes to nations league and the like. Let's say he's allowed half a dozen of the same player picks max.
