Lots of people had trouble with yesterday's puzzle. It seemed to matter which letters you got first,  the first or the end. I got it in four and I had the first letter at the third attempt. Anyone else see that?

It seems like it was easy to get in trouble if you got to _O_ER first.  You would think that after you're green on three letters, you should be going for final guesses, but that's actually a mistake.  There are way too many solutions that fit those three green letters, so you actually needed to spend another exploratory guess to filter the possibilities.

It's a mistake unless you play all guesses have to be potentially correct.  Then it's a hell of your own making.

As you can see I didn't get _O_ER until guess 5.  But I had knocked out a bunch of other potential letters so I was able to puzzle out Foyer out of the remaining letters available to me.

Me and this chick I work with both missed foyer, and it was the first word either of us had missed all year.
