Ireland had a stricter lockdown and shut down non-essential retail (like Wales). But the shops opened again this morning. This was a queue outside the Irish version of Primark in Dublin at 4.30 am

I like shopping as much as the next man but I mean, wut?

same in Gent. Also for the Primark

at least they're wearing their Primark bought sweat pants for the occasion

So those under 50 don't get vaccinated, or it just means that they go after everybody else?

Over here they've already announced that vaccinations will take place in three rounds over the first half of 2021. If I understood it properly I'd go in the last group, around summer. My parents will go in th second, in spring.

Shops, museums, libraries to re-open next week. Restaurants, hotels, gyms, cultural events, movie theaters etc. will remain closed till Jan 6th. This also means: no Christmas markets in Vienna which is huge, considering what an important part of the season they are (and popular with tourists, obviously).

This is rather wild, but the Catalan Health Department has today said that they have yet to have a flu test come out positive this season. Doesn't mean nobody has caught the flu, because there isn't that much flu testing being done, but it's still pretty remarkable.

So, apparently the WWE has found a ... creative solution for performing without live audience. They surround the ring with screens, and viewers can sign up to connect with their webcam so they get a live audience reaction.

It seems ... vaguely dystopian.

EDIT: if you had told me about this ca. 1990, I think my mind would have been blown.

Not too different to what the NBA did. They had Obama as part of the virtual audience in one of the finals games even
