Apparently Alberta now has the most active cases of Covid-19 in Canada - which makes our per capita rate even worse as other provinces have much larger populations (I believe Manitoba and/or Nunavut might be worse than us per capita).

Premier is set to make an announcement this afternoon - we're all just wondering to what degree we get locked down.  It seems almost certain schools will stay open - but beyond that everything is fair game.

What I want to know is what happened to British Columbia? I seem to recall they were doing really well way back when, their seven day average per capita is now worse than Ontario's.

well, Nunavut has a few hundred people spaced over 10 million km2 with a dozen cases, so, yeah, it's bad. :P

Large and semi-large gatherings are the death of us.  Can't spend one week without hearing about such a gathering in some place in Quebec.  The solution is in us, people bitch about the government semi-lockdowns, but they can't follow simple rules: DO NOT GATHER.  I don't understand how hard it is for some to understand.  JFC.
I don't do meditation.  I drink alcohol to relax, like normal people.

Part of it is idiots carrying on as if there was no virus after we had bent the curve.  That seemed to have been a signal to many that they could go back to pre COVID ways.

But another big problem has been the large numbers of infections coming from the Fraser Valley - large multigenerational families of South Asian (mainly Sikhs) have been particularly hard hit. As one person put it, if it isn't being said on the Punjabi or Hindi information sources for a lot of them and particularly the older generation, it isn't being said.

In hindsight that was a huge hole in the communications strategy.  Local temples and prominent members of the community (Doctors, Lawyers etc) are stepping up to spread the word about how to be more COVID safe.

We bent the curve when the weather was good.  My hubris was well earned.  So fuck you.  :D

:P Sorry just trying to be flippant. Sucks for Canada overall. Had to send out some memo on Monday for changes in office protocol after the new lockdown. Especially our technicians and where they're allowed to enter in the building.

We've had a few people we had to test, but so far no one has gotten sick at my company.

We just had another positive Covid case in our office announced today.  I think that's about 3.  And we're not that large an office - I think under 200 or so with both staff and Crowns.

I've started wearing a mask any time I leave my office.

The big question for us is whether out-of-custody trials get cancelled again.  Premier Kenney goes on at 4:30 to announced the new restrictions, whatever they might be.

In our Ontario offices (we have three) you need to wear a mask if your in a common area, even the cubicle farm areas. You can only go mask free in an office if you're alone. Also have an online questionnaire you have to fill out everyday.

We do the same.

IN our office people had been encouraged to work from home all through the spring and summer, but as of September we had a 'return to work' where everyone was supposed to be back in the office.  Masks were required in public areas but not inside our office (which is closed to the public).

That's quite irresponsible.

I mean it hasn't been business as usual.  You're still supposed to social distance.  Large office meetings are a thing of the past.  I had a consult on an opinion file last week that was all done remotely with 7-8 people.

We even have those arrows on the floor that nobody follows.  Our building is kind of shaped like a donut - there's a big open area in the middle which is a kind of atrium for the building.  But anyways if you follow the arrows if I wanted to, say, go to the bathroom I would have to walk all the way around the office in order to get back to my office.

I still don't understand why still go to an office? Exposing yourself too so much risk so you can sit infront of a different computer?

A lot of what BB does involves highly confidential information that really should be staying in his secured office area.
