In the last two years the two parties competing for my vote have done everything possible to lose it. Staying home for the first time in ages.

Exit polls show a good result for the left and the right far from being able to make a majority. The left would need separatists to at least abstain.

We'll see, exit polls have always been hit and miss over here. Some times they hit the nail in the head, some others fail horribly.

Socialists (sunglasses guy) win the election. The conservatives (talk show host) collapse and lose 50% of their vote (yay), the far right (horse guy) underperform polling and get "just" 10% of the vote (yay). The liberals (guy that doesn't look like major appleby) have a decent showing and almost surpass the conservatives. Right now the socialists can look either left or right for a coalition, although I expect the liberals to keep their stance of not entering talks with them. However, it looks like we'll be able to get a stable-ish government. At least stable-er than the one we just had.

Separatists get 39% of the vote in Catalonia, although they have never got good results in general elections there (that 39% is actually their best result).

Bread guy, which seems was a bit of a languish favorite, kept his seat.

I'll take that.

How did the loony left do?  And who is their leader?

They lost nearly half of their seats, but they actually beat polling and they have a good chance to be in a coalition government. It's ponytail guy.

That sounds pretty nice. Here in Finland our far right got 18% of the vote and is now the second-biggest party in the parliament (biggest one is Social Democrats). Also the Left and the Greens all got more seats than previously, but it's going to be difficult to form a government without parties giving major concessions.

The socialists still need to stitch a complex coalition, to be honest. But they have a much larger MP base to work from and the right is much weaker, so they should have more stability.

How fares our animal rights milf?

She didn't make it  :(

She'll have a much better chance in the European election, where the electoral system favors parties like hers and they are entering her again as #1.

Apparently the far right are big on insisting they aren't far right?
This where their support is from?

This was a "lesser of half a dozen evils" election and what we got definitely was one of the best realistic outcomes.

How did Preacher Macron look alike(#3) do?

Generationally bad results for the conservatives, he's a dead man walking at the moment.
